The CSV Exporter generates a file you upload manually to Shopify — great for one-time imports. PromoSync connects directly to your Shopify store for ongoing automated imports and pricing updates. For most users, PromoSync is the better choice for Shopify.
Can PromoSync update prices automatically?
Yes. When you import a product, you can choose between automated and manual pricing. Automated mode syncs prices from the supplier's PromoStandards feed directly to your Shopify listings.
Do I need to install a Shopify app?
Yes. You'll need to install the PromoSync app from the Shopify App Store. Once installed, go to your Shop settings inside the app and enter your PSRESTful API key to connect your store. After that, you can start importing and syncing products.
Can PromoSync update inventory automatically?
Yes. PromoSync can sync inventory levels from suppliers that support the PromoStandards Inventory service. When a supplier provides real-time inventory data, PromoSync updates your Shopify stock quantities automatically — helping you avoid overselling and keeping your store accurate.
Can I choose which Quartet products to import?
Absolutely. PromoSync lets you browse Quartet products using the Product Finder and selectively import only the ones you want to sell in your Shopify store.
Can I use PromoSync to update products I imported before installing it?
Yes. We just need to map your existing Shopify products to our ProductIds and PartIds. We provide a formatted CSV that you can use with apps like Matrixify to update the required metafields in Shopify. Then, using the Sync Duplicated Products option in PromoSync, PSRESTful will recognize all the products in your store that it can update — so you get ongoing syncing without re-importing anything.
